Why Ashton Kutcher Works Out (You'll Never Guess!)

Post by Julie Ryan EvansGiven all the dead birds and fish turning up in Arkansas, Ashton Kutcher has likely upped his workouts exponentially. Because, you see, Demi Moore's dude doesn't put all the work into his bod for any vain reasons or even to impress the ladies, rather Ashton Kutcher says he works out in preparation for the apocalypse. No, not a remake of the film Apocalypse Now, the actual end of the earth. And I don't even think he's joking.
"All of my physical fitness regimen is completely tailored around the end of day," he recently told Men's Fitness. "I stay fit for no other reason than to save the people I care about."
So how is he preparing? Well, he practices Krav Maga, "an elite form of hand-to-hand combat," and he runs while pretending a wild boar is chasing him (that's what he said). He also stockpiles guns and does bikram (hot) yoga daily.
"If the shit hits the fan, you can get out of the shit," he told the magazine. That's sweet and all, but isn't it a little paranoid? Not so according to Kutcher, who has really thought things through.
"It won?t take very much, I?m telling you. It will not take much for people to hit the panic button. The amount of convenience that people rely on based on electricity alone. You start taking out electricity and satellites, and people are going to lose their noodle. People don?t have maps anymore. People use their iPhones or GPS systems, so if there?s no electricity, nobody has maps."
"And people are going to go, 'That land's not yours, prove that it's yours,' and the only thing you have to prove it's yours is on an electric file. Then it's like, 'What's the value of currency, and whose food is whose?' People's alarm systems at their homes will no longer work. Neither will our heating, our garbage disposals, hot-water heaters that run on gas but depend on electricity -- what happens when all our modern conveniences fail? I'm going to be ready to take myself and my family to a safe place where they don't have to worry."
Wow, if the thought of a fat ass or heart disease doesn't motivate you to get fit, that just might. I bet especially with those aforementioned bird and fish, Ashton could make a killing on an Apocalypse series of workout videos!
Does preparing for the end of the world motivate your workouts?
